That summer trip is coming. You’re planning your fun-filled week, or more if you’re lucky. You’re ready to check out from the stresses of daily life. Before you completely punch out, do a little research to make sure that you won’t completely checkout from your workout routine. It is tough to fit your full workout in, but with a little planning there are things you can do. After all, doing something is better than nothing at all.
Plan on cutting back or modifying your routine based on what the amenities are available to you.
Before you head out on your vacation, do a little research to find the closest gym. Check to see if your hotel has workout facilities or classes. Book additional 1:1 sessions with your Coach for accountability.
Workout tools like resistance bands and jump ropes are easy to pack and offer a great quick workout. Use the bands for strength training and your jump rope for a cardio workout.

If you are on the road for your summer vacation, try to include a pit stop for a day hike. It is not only a workout, but it also offers a break from the car and allows you to explore more of the place you are visiting. While on your hike, work in some self-limiting movements against a rock or bench, or lunges, to ramp up the activity level.

Take an adventure. It could be a good hike or find a place to rent a bike to ride. This is not only an excellent way to see the sites; it is a great workout. Other adventures could include, if you are near water, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or surfing. It is an excellent way to burn calories and create lasting memories.

The bottom line when planning for your summer break is to have fun! You are on vacation after all. Planning a little exercise will make your transition back to reality a little easier.
