We Remember 9/11 🇺🇸
25 years ago today, I was standing in my hair studio and spa, wrapping a perm, when a client told us a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I still remember that moment.
So much has changed in 25 years. My career has changed. My family has grown. Life has taken turns I never could have imagined standing in that salon that morning.
But today always brings me back to how quickly life can change, how much we need one another, and what strength really looks like.
We talk about strength a lot in this community, and it isn’t always physical.
Strength is getting back up. Carrying someone when they need you. Loving people well. Finding a way forward when life looks different than it did yesterday.
It’s resilience. It’s endurance. It’s community.
Today, I hope we remember the lives lost, the families who still carry that loss, and the incredible courage shown that day and in the days that followed.
25 years later, we remember. ❤️

Tragedy often brings out our true character - reslilience and power. Thank you for sharing your story, Shannon.
About three months after that fateful day, the Santa Barbara Museum had an exhibit of all of the posters that people put up looking for their loved ones (remember, this waS before everyone had a cell phone). That exhibit should have come with a box of tissues as each poster was so compelling and heartbreaking. It gives me chills to this day.
