Horizontal Loading
Ever wonder why your coach says “3 sets” of an exercise? That’s horizontal loading, a strength training method where you complete all your sets for one exercise before moving on to the next.
For example, doing 3 sets of 10 squats with rest in between is horizontal loading. It targets the same muscle group repeatedly, which helps with:
💪Muscle endurance: Repeating the same movement builds stamina in that muscle group.
💪Progressive overload: You can control rest and weight to gradually challenge your muscles.
